About Penelope’s Passion: A Regency Era Novel

Penelope’s Passion is a regency romance that falls under the Lord’s and Courtesans trope, as Lord Slade purchases Penelope at a private virgin auction that she enrolled herself in. It is as steamy as it sounds, and the book walks the fine line between a romance novel and erotica. In fact, it has almost more intimacy than story as the two have a heavily heated romance that goes beyond the innocent deflowering of a newly married lady of the ton story.

The book delves into the School of Enlightenment, which is a school for young ladies in Maggie Sims’ connected regency world. In this school, young ladies learn business, cooking, and gardening, and even have classes on how to be the best courtesan. It also heavily illustrates the regency demi-monde part of regency society full of mistresses and scandal, basically those on the fringes of respectable society. However, if you also enjoy reading about regency-era theater, then you might like this book as the theater is the backdrop for this story.

For those interested in reading this book, it contains a beautifully written happy ending and can easily be read as a stand-alone alone novel if you haven’t read book one.
