Series: The Perks of Being an Heiress

Seduced by the Scot is the third book in its series. This series is best read in order as the books build on each other. In fact, many of the happily ever after moments or HEAs happen in the proceeding book. In this way, the books really suck you into the series and capture your attention. They make you long to read more of them. Seduced by the Scot features Lady Brynne Weston, the twin sister of Weston Weston, the hero or male lead from book two. She appears to be everything a well-brought-up lady and daughter of a duke should be. Brynne even hosts the grand parties, lives in a grand home, and cares for her brother. She is a somber sort of lady, but maybe she wasn’t always so serious. Most of her family and friends consider her a spinster because she is unwed, or is she?

The hero of this book is devil-may-care rouge, Lord Lachlan Campbell. He is the laird of his estate and has many responsibilities. In fact, he is looking to rebuild up his family’s distillery. But he was not always a man of obligation and duty. In fact, as a boy, he was a troublemaker and a little rebellious.

Lachlan and Brynne met as children; it was love at first sight for Lachlan. He describes Brynne as such:

“For Lachlan, it was always Brynne.” Jillian Eaton, Seduced by the Scot, Chapter One

This is such a powerful love quote for a powerful love story. It is a story that will swoop you off your feet with twists and turns. If you enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope with some conflict and hints of infidelity, you will enjoy Seduced by the Scot

Noteworthy Moments of this Historical Romance Novel

There are so many moments of note in this historical romance novel. For example, one moment of note is when the characters spout a little bit of interesting wisdom:

“What is an omission, if not a lie that hasn’t been spoken yet?” Jillian Eaton, Seduced by the Scot, Chapter 2

Along with these sprinkles of wisdom throughout the book, a monumentous bargain is struck between the two leading characters when they are children. In fact, it is such a lofty bargain that it changes the course of their lives forever.

If you are a fan of bargains, great metaphors, wit, and even a bit of wisdom sprinkled throughout your books, then you must read Seduced by the Scot because this book has it all.

Four Star Regency Romance Novel

I give Seduced by the Scot four stars. It is a great book, and I would recommend it to any of my friends. If you are a passionate regency reader, you will also love this book. Even though it is set in the Victorian era, about 40 years after the regency period, it still has much of that regency romance charm with the aristocracy, dances, balls, and carriage rides. So, why does it lose a star for me? Well, this may not be anything of consequence for you, or it may even inspire you to read the book. Still, for me, the hints at infidelity or any kind of infidelity in the plotline of a regency romance book just left a bad taste in my mouth. It was unsettling.

Steamy Regency Romance By Jillian Eaton

Eaton is known for writing steamy victorian era novels. This novel features a couple of intimate scenes between the leading characters. It also has some passionate kisses described in vivid detail. It would be considered an open-door romance novel. However, it is a far cry from an erotic novel. In fact, the intimate scenes are written tactfully.
